Welcome to my website! Let me share some of my background as a pianist, a teacher and a vocal coach. I taught High School Choral Music and Junior High School General and Choral Music for over 25 years, with award winning choirs and a proven track record of NYSSMA solo preparation. Since I left public school, I have been busy coaching, accompanying singers and conducting choirs and orchestras. My private studio has flourished with wonderful young people learning about breathing, vowel placement, repertoire choices and performing music of all styles - from Musical Theater to Art Song to Opera Arias. My Master of Music degree is in Piano Performance, and most of my performing career has been as a collaborative pianist. That means that I have a broad and deep knowledge of the vocal repertoire, and my voice students learn a wide variety of standard art songs and arias, enabling them to compete at the highest levels. I also teach pianists who have advanced to higher levels of technical and musical skill, and I enjoy working with those students as well. I love working with young musicians, and treasure the warm personal relationships that have developed as we work together. Parents - As a parent myself, I understand the importance of trust in the people who have worked with my own children. I also understand that your financial investment should be matched by your son or daughter's efforts in practicing and being responsible. While I am THEIR teacher, I will also be YOUR advocate as they learn what their responsibility is in the relationship.
